Kudos have come in for Through Deaf Eyes, a two-hour Chowder-scripted film (Florentine Films/Hott Productions). The film has received both a 2008 DuPont/Columbia award (the documentary equivalent of a Pulitzer) and the 2008 Erik Barnouw Prize, awarded by the Organization of American Historians, for the best U.S. history film of the year.

Apartheid and the Club of the West, by Clarity Films, was chosen Documentary of the Year (2006) by the National Film Board at the Vancouver Festival.

  • 1812: The War We Forgot, a two-hour documentary about a war that slowly disappeared from memory, for WNED and WETA (Florentine Films/Hott Productions). Scripting and Production funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities
  • Enterprising Women, a two-hour film about women in business throughout American history, produced by Oscar-winning filmmaker Freida Mock.
  • Ordered Liberty, a two-hour film about the rise and evolution of Conservative thought in postwar America, produced by Emmy- and DuPont-award-winning filmmakers Bill Cran and Vicki Barker for WETA.
  • Have You Heard from Johannesburg?, a six-part, 8 ½ hour documentary series by Clarity Films, about the worldwide effort to bring down apartheid.
  • From the Ground Up: A History of Work in America, a four-part series for Producer Chana Gazit and WNET.
